Building a conversational research experience: messages, charts, sources, and the interactions that held them together.
The challenge
Product and design had a compelling direction, but the mocks were often conceptual. What happened when someone left a research job running? Returned after a refresh? Needed to question a report’s sources? I worked through those behaviors in code, giving product, design, and backend partners something concrete to refine.
The experience
I led the frontend delivery from a template or custom brief to an editable research report. Jobs persisted beyond the page that launched them; returning to one reconnected the interface to its current state instead of starting over.
The report was a working document, not the end of the conversation. People could ask for revisions, follow numbered citations into an expandable source panel, and share or export the result. I built the artifact viewer and evidence navigation, working through the interaction details with the team.

“He was also instrumental in building out Messari’s AI integrations, including our Copilot and Deep Research products, which were critical to the company’s product direction.”
The result
Deep Research gave Messari a persistent research workspace: a place to return to the work, examine its evidence, and put the result to use.
