Turning an ambitious AI concept into research people could return to, inspect, and keep working with.
The experience
Messari’s homepage put the market in one view: compare assets, follow the news, and explore research without jumping between pages.
That view became customizable. Prices & Chart and Market Overview kept the market context in place. People could choose news, research, watchlists, and other modules, then adjust each one with its own filters.

The architecture
Personalization didn’t have to mean waiting for an empty page to fill in. Saved layouts arrived with their data ready, while the default homepage stayed fast and discoverable.
The shared default was statically generated for speed and SEO. For a personalized page, the server read the saved module choices and preferences from Neon, then fetched only what those modules needed.
Server prefetch and browser components shared TanStack Query keys, so the browser could use that data without immediately requesting it again. Modules followed one loading pattern instead of each solving it separately.
“Brian’s combination of technical depth, product ownership, and cross-team collaboration is rare and invaluable to the team.”
The result
The homepage remembered each person’s modules and preferences, so they could return to their own view of the market.
Desktop brought asset comparisons and selected modules together. Mobile organized the same data into focused tabs for Assets, Watchlists, Sectors, and Mindshare.
